Presentation Secondary School Clonmel are delighted to announce the redevelopment of their school’s playing facilities which will take place over the duration of the next two years.
The upgrading of the new facilities underscores Presentation Secondary School Clonmel’s commitment to providing premium facilities for all students.
Phase one of the project will commence immediately with the construction of a state of the art, new floodlit all- weather pitch in partnership with Clonmel Hockey Club. The overall projected costing for the redevelopment of the all- weather pitch is over €700,000. The year-round availability of an all- weather facility will undoubtedly enhance the curricular and extra - curricular activities provided to all students along with helping them to hone their skills and promote their sporting talents.
Clonmel Hockey Club and the wider Clonmel Community are also set to reap the rewards of this collaboration. The partnership between Presentation Secondary School and Clonmel Hockey Club reflects a shared commitment to promoting sports and fostering community spirit.
Principal Michael O Loughlin expressed his delight at the commencement of works highlighting the positive impact this all - weather facility will have on both Presentation Secondary School Clonmel and the Clonmel Community.
Phase two of the development in 2025 will see the development of full sized, grass GAA and Soccer pitches. This will take place over a period of six months resulting in newly seeded, sanded and irrigated pitches available for use by the Clonmel Community and beyond. The final phase of the project will see the provision of dressing rooms with bathroom facilities.
The next two years will be exciting times for Presentation Secondary School Clonmel and the wider Clonmel Community who will benefit greatly from the provision of such a sports facility. Presentation Secondary School Clonmel and Clonmel Hockey Club would like to sincerely express gratitude to the Minister of State for Sport and Physical Education, and Minister of State for Gaeltacht Mr. Thomas Byrne T.D, for the Sports Capital Grant Aid of €249,000 received. They would also like to express their gratitude to Clann Credo for their financial support and to all those involved in the submission of the application, in particular Cllr Máirín McGrath. In order to finance the shortfall in overall costing for the project, Presentation Secondary School will be holding a number of fundraising events over the coming year as well as continuing their weekly online Lotto.
