Dear Parents/Guardians of TY Students,
I would like to welcome your daughter to this year’s Transition Year Programme. The scheduled programme is dynamic and varied and will allow the students to build on existing skills and develop new ones. It will also encourage students to be more independent learners and we are all here to support them along their journey. It is of vital importance that each individual student embraces the programme, avail of all the opportunities that they are given and attend every day. You truly get out what you put in when it comes to the TY Programme here in the Pres!
We have high expectations for our students here in terms of attendance, punctuality, and participation in all class work and in all activities. Students are encouraged to buy in to the programme and bring along an “I can do” attitude.
Your daughter will be encouraged to find her own work experience placements and we would ask you to challenge her to do the networking and to make the contacts herself.
The work experience dates for 2023/2024 are 27th November to 8th December 2023 and 29th April to 10th May 2024.
