On Thursday evening December 12th ,Presentation Secondary School had their official opening of the new All Weather Pitch after the presentation of medals to our successful Munster winning teams at Senior Football and Camogie last year.

Mr O’Loughlin (Principal) thanked a number of people fortheir help in getting the project over the line.He said the official openingmarked five years of hard work in getting the project completed.
He gave a special mention to Cllr Mairin McGrath,Cllr SeaniePower,Presentation Sisters,especially Sr Mary McDermott,Geraldine Boland(Clonmel Hockey Club) and Department of Sports & Tourism in relation to theSports Capital section.
Mr O’Loughlin thanked Peter Morrissey (Lead Architect) forhis unwavering support and professionalism to the project supported by MartinPeters (Civil engineer) and Andrew Weight (Electrical Engineer).Also to PremierPitches for delivering such an exciting project for the school,Clonmel HockeyClub and the community of Clonmel.
The internationally standard pitch is a great addition tothe school facilities and great for the students and staff in the school. This new facility will provide a reliable and high-qualityspace for sports and physical activities, regardless of the weather conditions.Students will benefit from increased opportunities for outdoor exercise, whichis essential for their physical health and well-being. Additionally, the pitchwill support a variety of sports.Overall, this new pitch will enhance thestudents' educational experience by promoting a healthy and active lifestyle.
The project cost over 720,00 euro and with a number ofdifferent contributions from all partners involved already received,the schoolwill be engaging on a campaign of fundraising to cover the final cost of100000.
After the cutting of the ribbon, staff of the Presentationplayed the Sixth Years in a game of Rounders which was watched by a great crowdwith the teachers continuing their annual success over the Sixth years.
