Deputy Principal’s Welcome

It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the Presentation Secondary School Clonmel Website which I hope will provide you with a flavour of the school, its ethos and its culture.

MOL photoPresentation Secondary School Clonmel is an all girls Catholic secondary School founded by the Presentation Sisters and in the trusteeship of CEIST. Our revamped Website coincides with our Bi-Centenary celebrations (1813-14/2013-14) and the announcement by the Vatican to make Nano Nagle venerable.

In keeping with the vision of Nano Nagle we welcome all pupils into the Presentation Secondary  School. We strive to provide the very best education for all children, catering for individual needs in an inclusive, caring environment. The core values of Nano Nagle continue to inform our practices. Over the last thirty years, our school has responded to the needs of the time, taking practical steps such as introducing new programmes and developing our school facilities.

We believe that every pupil is unique and that it is our task to enable her to reach her potential as an individual and develop into a self-confident lady, ready to take her  place in society. We continue to strive for excellence in learning and teaching by a providing a rich and diverse curriculum. We aim to provide a broad and balanced programme placing equal emphasis on all aspects of the curriculum. Our broad range of extra curricular activities include our school choir, our school orchestra, our ‘Trad’ musicians, student council, basketball teams, Ladies GAA teams, athletics, school show, Business Enterprise awards. As you browse through this website you will discover a vibrant school community where a myriad of activities take place in any given day and where pupils can enjoy school and are happy.

In response to the needs of our time, and guided by current educational thinking on multiple intelligences, we aim to develop each person’s unique talents to the full. We believe in equality of opportunity for all, educational excellence and the promotion of care for oneself, others and the earth.

This school year, 2013 – 2014, we look back with gratitude and admiration at those who founded this school and those who contributed in countless ways over the past 200 years. We wish to commend and celebrate the Sisters, the Clergy, parents, families and staff.  Inspired by the achievements of previous generations, we will continue the task. We will embrace the challenges of 2014 and beyond. As you explore our website, you will see that we will continue to walk in their footsteps…
